Princess Hammerhead?
And now I must eat my words, because this morning Cassandra announced that she would like to be a princess for Halloween. Not a hammer. Maybe, a hammer next year.
I puzzled over the sudden change until a friend pointed out the cause, which in retrospect is obvious. When I showed her the half-finished hammerhead, we had the following conversation:
Cass: Oh, I think it looks kind of like a hammer.
Me: Thanks. Do you like it?
Cass: Yes. So…can I hammer stuff now?
Me: With your head?
Cass: Yes.
Me: No. No, you can’t.
Then she gave me a disappointed look, took off the hammer head and wandered away. After that, enthusiasm for her costume waned. And who can blame her? What fun is it having a hammer for a head if you can’t use it to hit stuff? At least if she’s a princess she can be sparkly.
I write stories, most of which contain a fairy or two. On this blog I write about the things that matter to me. When I'm not making stuff up I also love taking photographs. All the photos here are my own. If you're still curious, find out more on my About page.
